A Season of Thanks

We’re all about being part of the community we serve, giving back, and having our guests be a part of those efforts. That’s why we partner with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. This year alone, Habitat helped more than 4.2 million people build or improve the place they call home and we are proud that we are a part of that effort. Thanks in part to our guests, Habitat has been able to help homeowners like Terry:
Terry, her husband, and 83-year-old mother had been living in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in Fullerton for the last 10 years, and with a recent rent increase, were paying over 40% of their income in housing costs. The small space, regularly increasing rent, and her mother’s mobility and health issues all motivated Terry to search for improved housing. They took time to explore what Habitat for Humanity had to offer and applied for their assistance. They were approved with an affordable mortgage and helped build their home alongside volunteers to one of Habitat for Humanity’s Fullerton phase three homes. The family moved into their home on August 27th and on September 1st, when escrow closed, they officially became homeowners. Terry has since said, “getting the call from Habitat was one of the happiest days of my life. Fullerton is where my husband and I got married. We live, work, and attend church here. I just knew this was all part of God’s plan and could already feel a sense of relief and security for my family.”

The playhouse along with fun Chargers’ swag and experiences will be auctioned off, making it the best gift to please any Bolts fan. Bidding open until December 19**. All proceeds will be used to help build or repair real houses with families in need of a place to call home.
*Lazy Dog is proud to support Habitat for Humanity this holiday season with a commitment of $100,000 from November 10 - December 31, 2021. The net proceeds (sales price less cost of goods) of $2.12 per kit will be donated.
